Latest Updates from Our Project:

With the exception of DLC backers, all rewards have been shipped!
over 7 years ago – Thu, Sep 15, 2016 at 04:51:13 PM

A month ahead of our original schedule, we're pleased to be able to announce that all reward tiers have been shipped, other than those who pledge for DLC coated tops! We hope packages are arriving to you safely, and you are enjoying your new Beertop Deltas!

To address a few questions we've gotten via PM, which others of you may also have:

  • Tungsten and Steel bearings look very similar in appearance, and both react to a magnet (steel moreso than tungsten). While their material properties are quite different, the easiest way to tell them apart is by weight. A tungsten equipped Beertop Delta will weigh 30 grams, while steel weighs in at 22. If you ever wish to replace your steel bearing with a tungsten one, please contact us.
  • Oils from your fingers can cause anodized colors to appear a duller/earthier hue. This is not a permanent change, and the bright colors can be restored with a quick rinse with dish soap or windex, and then patted dry.
  • International Shipping may take upwards of a month, depending on your country and the speed at which your customs agency processes shipments. Some may even require you to pick up the package in person. How your country processes imported packages is outside of our knowledge or control, and we advise you contact your local customs agency if you have questions regarding your package once it leaves the US.
  • We love seeing your Beertop Deltas in action, and with your other EDC items! Please continue to share them with @pangeadesigns on Instagram :)

DLC update:
We received the batch of frames back from the DLC coating supplier, but were unhappy with the result. They were not as deep a black as we know is achievable with DLC, and most parts had some 'shadowing' in recessed areas that did not get an even coat. Unfortunately, this means they won't be shipping this week as we had hoped, as we are having them redone. Hopefully, delay will be minimal, and we will still be on track, if not even ahead of our original schedule.

Shipping begins 2 months early!

Shipping update!
If you've been following us on Instagram, you may have seen all the progress we've been making since our last update. We are scheduled to begin shipping this week! While they won't all be shipping at once, a good portion of Kickstarter orders are boxed and ready to go out the door. The majority of Beertop Deltas we have completed so far are of the natural stonewash finish, but we are making steady progress anodizing as well, with some ready to leave our shop as well. DLC Beertop Deltas are ready to be sent out for coating, we're just waiting our turn in the production queue. The DLC process is the step most out of our control, and therefore will be the hardest to estimate the completion time, though we're crossing our fingers to have these shipping before our original estimation as well.

Want more?
As we mentioned, we try to keep these updates to a minimum, simply to reduce the 'clutter' here, as your inbox. We've found that the more frequently we send updates, the less likely people are to read them, causing them to miss important information. If you wish to stay more connected with us, please check out our Instagram page @pangeadesigns, where we frequently post teasers, behind the scenes, giveaways, and other EDC related eye-candy. And of course, please don't hesitate to send us a message if you have a question!

Here's a quick peek of how our Beertop Deltas are anodized. Titanium anodizing is applied with electric current, with no dye involved. The colors are entirely dependent on the voltage used. You can see this Beertop Delta cycle through the spectrum of colors as the voltage is increased, ending with green at around 105 volts.

Quick Update + Heads Up
almost 8 years ago – Mon, Jul 11, 2016 at 05:47:04 PM

The Kickstarter funds have just now cleared, but we're actually already well underway with the production of the Beertop Deltas! We'd gotten a head start, and 150 frames already have all steps complete, and only require that the bearings of choice be pressed in.

At this point, we now need to gather everyone's shipping address, and specific reward selections. Please expect to receive a link to your Backerkit Reward Survey sometime this week. You will be able upgrade your pledge tier, select from bearing styles, add additional items or funds, and provide us your shipping address.

You will not need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email will contain a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards. If you used Facebook to log into your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you'd prefer to use, please message me.

If you need to change your survey responses, add or remove add-ons, or update your shipping information, you can click on the link in your survey email again or request your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page. (This page will only start working after we send the surveys out.)

As we compile pledge responses, we will begin shipping in no particular order. While this will mean some backers may receive their pledge rewards before others, it will allow us to move things along much more efficiently, with the goal that everyone be able to receive theirs sooner than would otherwise be possible.

Tungsten Bearings unlocked with 1 hour left!
almost 8 years ago – Sun, Jun 26, 2016 at 08:46:29 PM

Approaching the final hour of funding and have just unlocked the Tungsten Bearings! Like the Brass Bearing upgrade, this can be added to any pledge tier, simply by increasing your pledge amount by $10. If you are unable to make the adjustments by the close of the funding period, have no fear, as it will be available as an add-on upgrade on your Backerkit Reward Surveys which will be sent out a week or two after the funding period is over in order to gather the specifics of your reward selections and shipping addresses. Please stay tuned for further instructions regarding the Backerkit Reward Survey, as everyone must fill one out (since we don't have anyone's shipping address yet).

If you'd like to change your tier, visit our project page and click the blue “Manage" button that appears next to your pledge amount. Select "Update your pledge" on the following page. Then choose the new reward tier you'd like to pledge for and your pledge amount will update automatically. If you would like to upgrade your Beertop Delta to a brass ball, simply add $5 to your pledge.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make the Beertop Delta such a success!!

Final Stretch, now available in DLC Black!
almost 8 years ago – Sat, Jun 25, 2016 at 03:59:56 PM

We're on the final stretch, with less than 3 days left! We've already gotten a head start on production with nearly half of the frames cut and nearly ready to have their bearings fitted. With any luck, we should be able to start shipping these well before our original delivery estimate.

DLC BLACK!
We've just unlocked our latest stretch goal, DLC Black coated frames, which look pretty amazing. DLC, or "Diamond Like Coating", is a nanocomposite coating that has unique properties of natural diamond, particularly its hardness and wear resistance. The black appearance looks wonderful with both steel or brass bearings. DLC black is the $65 pledge tier, and like all our pledge tiers, may be upgraded to a brass ball bearing by adding $5 to your pledge.

TUNGSTEN?
Next up for the $20k stretch goal... Tungsten Carbide Bearings! Twice the heft of steel, and virtually unscratchable.

As always, thanks everyone for the support! Don't forget to Keep up with us on Facebook and Instagram for giveaways, behind the scenes, and teasers :)
